  • We had a great Christmas, we didn’t get much snow, but we are still skiing as many days as we can while the boys are on break. We even got Maria’s dad up on the slpes with us.
  • We always take down our Christmas tree and decorations the day after Christmas. How about you?
  • If you have leftover ham, here are two good soups for you to make, one and two.
  • Has anyone seen The Boys in the Boat? That is the movie I want to see.

  • We had a nice Christmas at home. We opened presents, made brunch, and watched basketball and football all day. I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

    You said you took your holiday decorations down the day after Christmas. Why would you want to do that in the middle of the holidays? The week between holidays is a special time . Families and friends are together, taking down the decorations says holidays over. The decorations just add to that wonderful feeling. January 2nd is soon enough to put away the magic.

    1. That is our tradition. We put our Christmas up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down the day after Christmas. It doesn’t mean we still aren’t celebrating and enjoying time with loved ones.

  7. Thank you for sharing so many great recipes with us, Maria. I make one or two per week! I love that the ingredients are real food and mostly items I keep on hand in my frig and pantry. Your instructions are easy to follow with no fussy steps. I always have an extra copy of your cookbook on hand to give as a gift. I just received two copies of the Cookie book and will enjoy sharing them with my baking friends.   8. Would love to see an occasional gluten-free baking recipe. Also blackberries. We tend to have a lot of them in our garden in summer and I’m always eager to try out new ways to use them in recipes.

    We leave our christmas tree and decorations up at least until Jan 6th, which is epiphany day and is celebrated over here. But we only decorate and put the tree up a few days before christmas.
